Bill Chang’s Biography

Bill is Executive Vice President of the Business Group at SingTel, Singapore’s largest public-listed company by market capitalization.  The Business Group serves SingTel’s domestic and global corporate customers with a full range of Information-Communication Technology (ICT) services.

Bill sits on numerous boards including that of the Workforce Development Agency,  he is on the advisory committees of multiple uniiversities, including the Singapore Management University School of Information Systems, and he also has served on a wide array of government committees, including the Economic Review Committee.

Bill was a member of the ICT sub-committee which was part of the Government’s Economic Review Committee (2003), SiTF Councillor (2002/2004), Chairman of SiTF-AAC Internet Data Centre Committee (2001), and executive committee member for Think Tank (1999/2000). Bill received the National Day Public Service Medal Award for his contributions to Singapore’s workforce development in 2007.

Before joining SingTel, Bill was the Managing Director of Cisco Systems’ Advanced Services Group in Asia Pacific. He was responsible for the company’s operations in 13 regional countries.

Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering from Monash University.

Piyush Singh’s Biography

Piyush is currently senior vice-president and chief information officer of Great American Insurance Company and vice-president of its parent company, American Financial Group. He is responsible for creating the vision and direction of Great American’s IT strategy in partnership with leaders within Great American’s business operations who, together, consider current and emerging business trends and the potential of the constantly evolving technology that is becoming an integrated part of the business environment.

Prior to his time at Great American, Piyush was CIO of RLI Insurance. Prior to that, Piyush spent time as a consultant at Price Waterhouse in Jamaica, as a banker at ANZ Banking Group in India, and he started his career in IT as a consultant with Citicorp Overseas Software Limited (COSL) also in India.

Singh holds a master’s degree in computer applications from University of Delhi as well as an M.B.A. from Bradley University. He has also attained the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and attended the Advanced Executive Education program conducted by AICPCU at the Wharton Business School.

Joe AbiDaoud’s Biography

Joe is the CIO at Toronto-based metals mining company HudBay Minerals. In that capacity, Joe supports more than 1,400 employees, with the majority of them in Flin Flon, a long time mining community in northern Manitoba where copper and zinc ore are extracted from a mine a mile underground.

Prior to his time at HudBay, Joe was the Head of IT at Direct Energy Home & Business Services. His past experience also includes time as a Senior Consultant at Keane Canada, as a Senior Analyst at AT&T Canada, and as an Analyst at ScotiaBank.

In 2011 Joe received a Computer World Premiere Top 100 Leadership award. In 2009 he was named a Top 25 CTO by CW Magazine and was recognized by the magazine for a Top 100 IT Project.

Joe has an Engineering diploma from St. Mary’s University and a Technology diploma from The Information Technology Institute.

Michael Del Priore’s Biography

Michael Del Priore is the Vice President and Global CIO of Church & Dwight. In this role, Michael is responsible for leading the Information Technology function globally by developing the IT strategy and delivering the capabilities required to achieve the company’s strategic objectives.

Prior to his time at Church & Dwight, Michael was Vice President and Global Head of Commercial Operations IT for Roche Pharma. Michael was hired to build a new global organization to support Pharma commercial activities at Roche including Affiliates, Strategic Marketing, and the Life Cycle Teams. In addition, Michael functioned as the IT Region Head for North America.

Prior to joining Roche, Michael held a series of IT leadership roles in divisions of Philip Morris (Altria) where he provided IT leadership to Corporate functions as well as international and domestic businesses. Michael began his career as a Consultant at Andersen.

Michael holds a BS degree in Management Information Systems from the State University of New York at Albany, and an MBA in Corporate Finance From Pace University.

Harvey Koeppel’s Biography

Harvey Koeppel is Executive Director of the Center for CIO Leadership. In this capacity, Harvey sets the Center’s strategy and directs internal and external operations. He also serves as Chairman of the Center’s Advisory Committee.

From May 2004 through June 2007, Harvey served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Citigroup’s Global Consumer Group (GCG). In that role, Harvey set the strategic direction for the GCG’s operations and technology and actively supported the development and growth of the operations and technology community across all GCG lines of business globally. Harvey served as the Chairperson of the Offshore Program Office Steering Committee and provided strategic input to GCG’s offshore and outsourcing practices. He additionally provided executive oversight to the Information Security and Data Protection programs for the Group.

Prior to taking on the CIO role, Harvey provided consulting services to CitiFinancial, Citibank and other Citi affiliates from 1986 to 2004. He was heavily involved in supporting the planning and integration of many of Citi’s major acquisitions, including Travelers Insurance, Associates First Capital, European American Bank and Golden State Bank.

Harvey has a distinguished record of IT innovation in the financial services industry. He designed the first graphical user interface for the NASDAQ trader workstation. He was the architect and designer of FxNet, a software program that revolutionized the way large financial institutions manage settlement risk within FX portfolios. He was also a primary contributor to the development of the Maestro platform at CitiFinancial, the online interface between customers, the sales force and the back office, which fundamentally changed the loan sales and approval process and significantly streamlined branch workflow. Harvey is the named inventor on the Citibank patent of the “Recommendation Engine”, a software component that advises sales and service staff about products and services to discuss with clients based upon their financial goals and objectives.

Harvey holds Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.

Greg Fell’s Biography

Greg is the CIO of the Terex Corporation, a Forune 500 company which is the third largest Manufacturer of Heavy and Light Construction Equipment. Terex Corporation operates in four business segments: Aerial Work Platforms, Construction, Cranes, and Materials Processing. Terex also offers a complete line of financial products and services to assist in the acquisition of equipment through Terex Financial Services. Terex employs 16,000 team members globally, with 50 manufacturing facilities throughout the globe.

Prior to joining Terex, Greg spent nearly 16 years at Ford Motor Company, where he held various senior level IT positions in the Engineering and Manufacturing organizations.

Larry Bonfante’s Biography

 

Welcome to Metis Strategy’s Forum on World Class IT. I’m Peter High, and I am pleased to welcome Larry Bonfante to the broadcast. Larry is the Chief Information Officer at the United States Tennis Association, and in that role, he and his team are responsible for all information technology related services supporting the US Open, the most highly attended annual sporting event in the world.

Lee Congdon’s Biography

Lee is the chief information officer of Red Hat, and in that role, he is responsible for the company’s global information systems, including the technology strategy, enterprise architecture, information technology governance, solutions delivery, and systems operations supporting the company. His role includes enabling Red Hat’s business through services such as knowledge management, technology innovation, technology-enabled collaboration, and process improvement.

Prior to joining Red Hat, he was Managing Vice President, Information Technology at Capital One where he developed and delivered information technology solutions for the firm’s corporate functions and Global Financial Services group. Before Capital One, Lee was Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, at Nasdaq, where he led the organization’s efforts to identify, implement, and operate technology solutions for Nasdaq Japan, Nasdaq Europe, and other strategic global ventures. Earlier, at Citicorp, Lee led multiple global technology initiatives for the private bank and the corporate bank. Lee began his career at IBM as an operating system developer and held several technology and technical marketing positions of increasing responsibility with that firm.

Lee holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.

Amit Chatterjee’s Biography
