Responsibilities of a Manager
Leading small teams and junior consultants in client engagements by overseeing primary and secondary research, data collection, analysis, and synthesis
Supervising, coordinating, and conducting research of company and industry trends
Creating structured analysis and modeling
Developing clear and concise client presentations and reports and communicating actionable recommendations to executive clients and their teams
Idea generation, formulation & testing of hypotheses
With other members of the leadership team, contributing to the firm’s business development pipeline, including its CRM capabilities, in furtherance of the firm’s growth and expansion strategy
Cross-leveraging and scaling the firm’s ecosystem, including its media, conferences and executive networking activities, while also focusing on core consulting responsibilities
Demonstrating internal and external thought-leadership, intellectual capital development, and dissemination of ideas through a multitude of channels and media outlets
Providing guidance and structure to Metis Strategy team members and stakeholders in the broader ecosystem, especially in complex, dynamic, and often ambiguous contexts
Continuous contribution to the firm’s intellectual property, including the evolution and refinement of firm methodologies, such as STAR, WCIT, Business Capability Mapping, and Digital Maturity Assessment
Managing business travel and working effectively during travel or at client on-site
Leading by exemplifying firm culture and policies and by identifying professional development opportunities for fellow team members
Qualifications and Expectations
Five to seven years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success working collaboratively in a professional services role, ideally in business strategy and/or management consulting environment
An advanced degree, preferably in a business, finance, technology, or related field
Passion for and experience with technology
A proven track record of working smartly and effectively to successfully manage individual workload, as well as overseeing small teams, in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines
Mastery of analytical frameworks, thought-leadership, and critical thinking
Attention to detail coupled with the ability to produce polished and compelling analysis and recommendations
High degree of energy, motivation, grit, and “roll up your sleeves” mentality
A healthy balance of intellectual curiosity, confidence, humility, creativity, resourcefulness, and empathy
Innovative problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial spirit, with the ability to turn ideas into action in pursuit of personal, team, and firm growth targets
A high degree of integrity, professionalism, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to exercise sound business judgment under pressure
Exceptional and verifiable strength in written and oral communication
Proficiency or mastery in using spreadsheets, presentation applications, and other analytical and visualization tools, such as MS-PowerPoint and MS-Excel. Additional experiences with data analysis and visualization tools such as MS-Visio, MS-Project, Tableau, and other productivity tools are a plus.
