Rob Lux & Mark Wassersug

Rob Lux is the COO of Cenlar. Rob joined Cenlar as CIO in 2017 and transitioned into the COO role in late 2019. In this role, Rob's responsible for Cenlar's operations and technology, business development, client management, human resources, legal, corporate communications, and marketing. He also temporarily took on the role of co-CEO of Cenlar in addition to his COO responsibilities following the retirement of the then-CEO. Prior to his time at Cenlar, Rob was the CIO of Freddie Mac, where he was responsible for all of IT within the organization. Mark Wassersug was the CIO of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). Mark has been with ICE for a little over 21 years and has held a number of roles within operations ultimately stepping into the role of COO in 2017. In 2022, he assumed the role of CIO until his retirement in January 2023. Throughout his career, Mark was responsible for building and leading ICE’s operations, engineering, IT, and customer support teams. As CIO, he focused on working closely with the PE/VC community to identify disruptive technologies ICE could leverage within the field.

Mark discusses his transition from COO to CIO during ICE’s massive growth, insights from the M&A integrations he led that contributed to that growth, and the combination of technology and operations in his COO that pushed him toward taking the CIO role.
