Welcome to Metis Strategy’s Forum on World Class IT. I’m Peter High, and I am pleased to welcome Larry Bonfante to the broadcast. Larry is the Chief Information Officer at the United States Tennis Association, and in that role, he and his team are responsible for all information technology related services supporting the US Open, the most highly attended annual sporting event in the world.

Larry is also the author of Lessons in IT Transformation, which will be published in May by Wiley Press, and is availbe for pre-order now.

Larry has served as a mentor and executive coach for many IT leaders in various industries (You can learn more about his executive coaching practice at www.CIOBenchCoach.com). He serves as President of the Westchester-Fairfield chapter of SIM and is a founding member of the CIO Executive Council. Larry has been a frequent guest lecturer, and he writes a monthly leadership column and blog for CIO Insight magazine. Larry has received numerous industry accolades including being named as one of Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders in 2009.

Prior to his time at the USTA, Larry held leadership positions at Greenwich Technology Partners and at Pfizer.

Larry has a BA in Economics & Organizational Psychology from City University of New York-Brooklyn College, and he has an MS in Organizational Leadership from Mercy College.

Yuvi Kochar’s Biography

Yuvi is the Corporate Chief Technology Officer of The Washington Post Company. In that role, he collaborates with the major divisions of The Washington Post Company in the areas of technology strategy, architecture and Shared Information Technology Services. Under his leadership, Shared IT Services have rapidly expanded to support key Compliance, Identity Management, Security and Privacy, HR, Benefits, Payroll and Procurement processes across all divisions. The team also supports the corporate Intranet and is currently innovating in the areas of Enterprise 2.0, collaboration and flexible architectures enabling rapid deployment of new solutions to respond to the fast-evolving requirements of the company’s business units.

Prior to joining the Post, Yuvi was the CTO at Brassring (now Kenexa), a leading SaaS solution for Talent Management. Besides Brassring, Yuvi worked at technology startups in France, New York and Southern California. In addition to his diverse startup experience, Yuvi has a strong experience in managing large outsourcing engagements. Jay Brodsky’s Biography

Jay is the chief information officer of the Atlantic Media Company, a privately-held publisher of some of the most influential media outlets in America, including the 150-year-old Atlantic Monthly, the National Journal, and Government Executive. The enterprise reaches 1.5 million opinion leaders and decision makers across the ranks of business, politics, government, media, and academia. In his role as CIO, Jay heads all technology efforts, including a rapidly expanding web-development operation.

Prior to his time at Atlantic Media, Jay held the role of director of digital media at National Public Radio, where he oversaw application development, systems infrastructure, and audio production at their online properties. He also spent eleven years at Tribune Media Services, the content-licensing and entertainment-data aggregation unit of Chicago-based Tribune Company, where he rose to the level of vice president for technology. Jay has also served as General Manager for NewsCom, a web-based photo-licensing business.

Jay holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
